Sherry Shell, MHP

ARMHS

I joined the Inspire Services team in 2017. Initially I was a Direct Care Coordinator, and moved onto a House Supervisor role shortly thereafter. After serving our clients in that capacity for several years, I was able to advance to an Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services Practitioner where I’m able to meet the needs of the clients I serve on an individual level.

I have experience working with individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness including but not limited to anxiety, depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Through building a personal relationship with each client, I’m able to gain an understanding about how their mental health symptoms uniquely impact each area of their lives. This helps shape my treatment planning process to meet the needs of each individual. A client centered approach is essential to developing goals and steps needed to achieve each individual's goals. As an ARMHS professional, I meet each person where they are at with services tailored to their individual needs.

I enjoy helping others to reach their goals by improving their interpersonal communication skills, utilizing community resources, budgeting, healthy lifestyle, mental health symptom management, household skills, organizational skills, employment related skills and more. I work hard to help individuals build on their coping skills in areas of life that are essential for daily independent living, when symptoms from their mental health decrease their functioning ability. It is rewarding to be a part of the process, watching each client succeed as they work towards their goals.

Some of my interests outside of work include spending time with family and friends, sewing, shopping, home updating and remodeling projects and crafting.
